Assistant Rig Manager - Are you our new team member?


COSL Drilling Europe, a safe and efficient drilling contractor dedicated to delivering on the energy transition with its cutting-edge, low-emission drilling rigs, is currently seeking skilled and motivated Assistant Rig Manager to join our team.
We are seeking a dedicated and professional to join our team at Cosl Drilling Europe. The successful candidate must be able to work from our office located in Sandnes and therefore should reside in the surrounding area.

By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.

Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.

We're currently looking for an individual with higher education within Asset Management, Petroleum studies at college level or equivalent. Relevant experience from similar positions or operational work within the petroleum sector will be beneficial for this role.

Tasks and responsibilities:  

  • Assisting and relieving the Rig Manager in the management of the rig.
  • Ensure the rig is operated in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, quality systems, maintenance programs, contractual commitments and budget.
  • Rig Performance Process (Lessons Learned)
  • Riser, tubular and drilling equipment management and logistics ensuring valid certification
  • Manage rig move preparations and facilitate rig move meetings
  • Manage the onshore logistics requirements for the rig
  • Attend Client meetings and follow up 3rd party requirements for the rig.
  • Ensure that operations are conducted according to contract.
  • Continuously develop, improve and strengthen the organization along with performance of work.

 

Qualifications/ Requirements:     

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).   
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on drilling operations.    
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of drilling procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.  
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in drilling operations.
  • Fluent in English(spoken and written).
